Injury updates: Kittle wasn’t listed on Friday’s injury report

Neither were Deebo Samuel or Emmanuel Sanders

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided injury updates after Friday’s practice to the media. Defensive end Dee Ford, who has been rehabbing a hamstring injury the past two weeks, was ruled out. So was wide receiver Dante Pettis, who Shanahan said injured his knee during a non-contact drill at practice Wednesday. Pettis will be week-to-week. Those are the only two players that have officially been officially ruled out against Baltimore on Sunday.

Here’s the full practice report from Friday’s practice:

Out:

DE Dee Ford (quadricep, hamstring)

WR Dante Pettis (knee)

Questionable:

RB Matt Breida (ankle)

T Joe Staley (finger)

Neither Breida or Staley practiced all week. I’d bet they were closer to doubtful than playing.

Those two, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Emmanuel Sanders were all limited in practice on Friday, but the three pass-catchers weren’t listed on the injury report. That means for the first time in a month, the 49ers will go into a game with their top three threats healthy: not bad timing, guys.

Kittle has been battling a bone bruise, so rest has been the best route for recovery. Kittle being able to practice period is a good sign. Sanders has been battling a rib injury that some players have been surprised that Sanders has been able to suit up. Him not being listed is more good news for the offense.

Full participation:

K Robbie Gould (right quadricep)

DT Jullian Taylor (jaw)

We can probably expect Chase McLaughlin to be waived on Saturday unless the team plans on carrying two kickers and three quarterbacks on their active roster.

The Niners will need Taylor, who has played 25 and 20 snaps the past two weeks, respectively. Taylor has filled in admirably inside for the defense. With Ford down again, that likely means more snaps for Solomon Thomas and Arik Armstead on the edge. Taylor can give D.J. Jones and DeForest Buckner a breather when needed. Taylor has outplayed Sheldon Day the last two weeks, in my opinion.

These are the players the Ravens are listing as questionable:

WR Miles Boykin (ankle)

TE Nick Boyle (ankle)

G Bradley Bozeman (ankle)

LB Matt Judon (ankle)

DT Domata Peko (knee)

DT Michael Pierce (ankle)

Judon not playing would be a huge deal. He has seven sacks on the season. He has 45 total pressures. The next closest Raven has 18. That’s why Baltimore blitzes so much, they have to generate pressure.
