We are back with another episode and to help recap the San Francisco 49ers 28-25 win over the Arizona Cardinals Blake Murphy from Revenge of the Birds joins me to talk about:
- One play that changed the game
- Player of the Game
- Four stats that won the game
- Two positional battles that made a difference
- One coaching decision you agree/disagree with
Blake believes Arizona still had a chance, up until Dante Pettis caught a touchdown on 3rd and long. My play came right before the half when San Francisco scored on fourth down after Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury iced Kyle Shanahan.
The player of the game for the winning team was the guy who threw four touchdowns, while Kenyan Drake kept Arizona in the game.
Third down won the game for the 49ers. When you’re up late, you have to convert on third downs. San Francisco was 7-10 in the second half on third downs. That’s how you win football games. Two third-down conversions came on the drive Pettis scored a touchdown. There were also two crucial conversions on the game-ending drive by the Niners.
I’ll save the last two for the podcast. Check out the new format and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
