49ers can clinch a playoff berth in Week 15

With a win, or a Rams loss, or both the Packers and Vikings losing

The San Francisco 49ers had an opportunity to clinch a playoff berth in Week 14. San Francisco did their part by beating the New Orleans Saints, but the Seattle Seahawks flopped on national TV and lost to the Rams. Sunday’s win not only put the 49ers back into first place of the division and the conference, but it also gave the team much needed breathing room. San Francisco can now lose one of the next two games and would still own the tiebreaker over Seattle, even if the Seahawks win their next two games.

Thankfully, the Niners don’t have to rely on any fraudulent playoff teams in Week 15 to clinch a playoff berth. San Francisco can clinch a playoff berth in one of three ways. If the 49ers beat the Falcons, they’re in the playoffs. If the Rams lose to the Cowboys, the 49ers clinch. If both the Vikings and the Packers lose in Week 15, San Francisco is in.

San Francisco is currently 11-point favorites of the Atlanta Falcons for Week 15. That’s the biggest spread of the season for the Niners. Atlanta just lost wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, for the season. They also lost their top cornerback Desmond Trufant for the season with a broken forearm, and Isaiah Oliver, the other starter, went down in the fourth quarter as well. The total on the game is 47, so Vegas is expecting a 29-18 49ers win. I don’t know about you, but after these last two games, I could use another Packers type of blowout.
