Marshawn Lynch signs with Seattle Seahawks, faces the 49ers Sunday

Where’s Willis and Bowman?

Well, being retro is cool again. Reports came out Monday night that the Seattle Seahawks and running back Marshawn Lynch have an agreement. In addition to the Lynch signing, the Seahawks also signed running back Robert Turbin.

The Seahawks running game essentially went to injured reserve Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Both C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson went down with injuries ending their season. They needed somebody, I don’t think anyone expected Lynch and Turbin to retake their positions on the Seattle run game.

Things are a bit different now. For one thing, Lynch is 33 and spent the better half of a year not playing football. It’s also a different offensive scheme than he played in during Seattle’s two Super Bowl runs. There’s not a doubt that he can break one or two runs out, but the dominance he had three years ago may not return Sunday.

2018, his final season with the Oakland Raiders, Lynch played in just six games and totaled 376 rushing yards. For his 2018 campaign, Turbin played for the Indianapolis Colts and was active for two games, getting 10 rushing yards.

While the Seahawks are busy getting the band back together. I wonder what Patrick Willis and NaVarro Bowman are up to. Hell, go see what Jerry Rice is doing at this point. Let’s just get a nostalgic game for Sunday.
