49ers/Seahawks inactives: Both teams down key starting safety

All eyes on you, Givens

This is it. The San Francisco 49ers are on the road to face the Seattle Seahawks for the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Lose, and San Francisco is the No. 5 seed and will play at the winner of the NFC East title. Tie, and the 49ers are the No. 3 seed and will host a game against the Vikings. How about win and get a week off and some key contributors back.

On Friday, the 49ers called up defensive tackle Kevin Givens from the practice squad after losing Jullian Taylor to an ACL injury for the season. I can’t wait to see how he performs tonight. Newly signed defensive end Anthony Zettel is active as well.

Jaquiski Tartt was listed as doubtful on Friday. He’s not going to suit up tonight as Tartt continues to recover from broken ribs. The bye would give him much needed rest, and the 49ers wouldn’t have to play a playoff game without one of their top defenders. Here is a look at the rest of the inactive list:

QB CJ Beathard

S Jaquiski Tartt

RB Jeff Wilson Jr.

CB Dontae Johnson

TE Daniel Helm

DL Dee Ford

WR Jordan Matthews

The Seahawks will be without starting safety Quandre Diggs. That is important as Diggs has made several plays during his time with Seattle. Here are the inactives for the Seahawks.
