The San Francisco 49ers are doing their due diligence on a host of 2019 NFL Draft prospects, and it should surprise nobody that Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa is part of that group.
Bosa is in Atlanta for the Super Bowl, and he told NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday that he met with John Lynch at an Ohio State practice. Matt Maiocco tweeted that the practice was “several weeks ago ... before Rose Bowl.”
Bosa sat out much of the 2018 college season after suffering a core muscle injury. He announced in October that he would not return to the Buckeyes and would instead focus on getting ready for the draft. A month later he signed with an agent. I’m guessing he took in Ohio State practices when they were in LA for the Rose Bowl and it was a quick trip for Lynch.
The star edge rusher said he will be a full participant in the Combine later this month. His dad said he might also re-test at the Ohio State Pro Day, but I’m guessing the bulk of his time after the Combine will involve visiting with teams. Who knows if that will include a trip to Santa Clara, but the 49ers probably have a pretty good handle on him at this point.
