Frank Gore backs up Joe Staley’s valentine in the literal sense

Last week was Valentine’s Day or as I call it, “Thursday.” In any case, the San Francisco 49ers social media department got into the spirit of love and tweeted out these gems. They are good for a laugh and highly recommended.

Well, fans weren’t the only ones to appreciate this humor. Former 49ers running back Frank Gore retweeted Joe Staley’s Valentine.

Frank Gore had some of his best years behind Joe Staley. Even at 34, Staley is considered one of the best offensive tackles in the league. For a patient runner like Gore, Staley helped him find some holes.

Obviously all of these are nothing more than a joke, but as far as Gore and Staley are concerned, Staley protected Gore for years, literally.
