After more than two decades of waiting, we now know when Space Jam 2 will hit theaters. The movie will release on July 16, 2021, will star LeBron James, and will be produced by Ryan Coogler. It should be a fun time.
Recently, Bleacher Report asked NFL players which quarterback they would want to appear in a football version of Space Jam. It was a fun video with some expected answers, and a few unexpected. Tom Brady was a popular pick, but San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was wise and chose Jimmy Garoppolo. A wise move for as Goodwin looks to get a few looks from Jimmy G this fall.
49ers tight end George Kittle made an appearance as well, and he chose Joe Namath. That took me by surprise. Younger guys usually are more inclined to name players either currently playing, or from the past 20 or 30 years. He picked a guy who hasn’t played in 42 years. Impressive choice.
Danny Amendola was the only one to offer up Joe Montana as his choice. Well done, Danny. I might actually go with Steve Young over Joe Montana in this case. Young’s scrambling and creativity feels a little more well-suited to the Looney Tunes.
