When we think of Trent Taylor we automatically pair him with George Kittle, as Trent is the other half of the duo known as Quality Time. Trent and George are no strangers to the Simms and Lefkoe show as they appeared earlier in the season and even had a little Jenga match with them during Super Bowl weekend.
Trent seems like a fun guy to be around as he tricked the Simms and Lefkoe podcast into thinking he was unable to make their show and surprised them by pulling through anyways. It’s rare we get to hear Trent talk and its actually kind of a breath of fresh air to hear his thoughts on the season, his best friend for life George Kittle, Jimmy Garoppolo, and he even gave a little insight on who Kyle Shanahan is and how meticulous he can be when game planning:
“It’s actually pretty impressive to watch. Whenever he’s starts talking to the receivers breaking down film with us, he’ll just pull up film from the 90s and from way back when of them running the same routes for twenty years and he’ll show us a million different ways to the run the route depending on what kind of guy you are, a fast guy, a big-bodied guy, he shows all the examples and shows all these different ways to run it. He kind of lets us create it within ourselves, we just look at the blue print of it and just take it from there.”
By now we are all accustomed to the fact Kyle Shanahan is a brilliant mind that is most likely playing 4D chess every Sunday when the 49ers take the field.
What was interesting about this interview was we actually get to hear for the first time (to my knowledge at least) how the team handled Garoppolo’s now infamous date with porn star Kiara Mia and how they joked with him about it all season:
“Little jokes here and there. We had a team party, and everybody’s like bring your wives, [it’s a secluded party] no outsiders. Jimmy, don’t bring the porn star here. Little shots like that, it was non-stop. The story completely blew up, I was just dying laughing when I saw it honestly. And whenever you mention it to Jimmy, he’s just the coolest dude ever about it. He doesn’t care, he’s awesome. Jimmy GQ, that defines him.
The whole interview is actually pretty good and it offers a great behind the scenes of what sounds to be some great camaraderie on this team on and off the field.
