During his tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kwon Alexander wore No. 58. That is going to change with the San Francisco 49ers. Alexander announced the other day on his Instagram that he will now be wearing No. 56.
As you know, that number was formerly worn by former 49er Reuben Foster.
56 has actually been worn by a linebacker on the team every year since 2010. There’s no news on the teams official website for Alexander’s number. It’s hard to believe Alexander won’t wear 56, though.
We are still waiting on official numbers from the teams other free agent signings. The only official number change that we’ve seen so far this offseason is Trent Taylor switching from No. 81 to No. 15. We’ll keep you updated on any other jersey numbers once they become official. Will Dee Ford give Pita Taumoepenu a nice chunk of change for the No. 55?
