The San Francisco 49ers will start training camp two weeks from today. We’re almost there. The defensive line has been a hot topic in the past few months. The Niners invested heavily over the past couple of seasons, and this past offseason was no different. Trading for Dee Ford, and spending another first-round pick on the defensive front have led many to think the defensive line should be one of the best in the league.

The Trio of Ford, Deforest Buckner, and Nick Bosa should lead to a lot of quarterbacks picking themselves off the ground this season. Instead of speculating what their final numbers this season will be, let’s take a look back into 49ers’ history. I’m interested to hear who you think should be on the Mt. (Pass)Rushmore.

Bryant Young is going to be there. Charles Haley is going to be there. From there, that’s where things start to get subjective. Your answer will likely depend on when you started watching the Niners. To some, Aldon Smith will be on this list, despite his troubles. If we’re talking 49ers defensive lineman, it’d be embarrassing not to mention Justin Smith.

Unlike most teams, the Niners have plenty of production. 22 players have registered over 20 sacks in their career:

Remember, the NFL didn’t start recording sacks until 1982. So some players are penalized for something out of their control. Let’s hear it, who are your four that would make the Mt. Rushmore?
