The San Francisco 49ers lost swing tackle Shon Coleman over the weekend to a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle that will keep Coleman out for a few months. With Coleman landing on the injured reserve, the Niners were always going to bring in another veteran offensive linemen. On Monday morning the team signed former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Sam Young.

Young has played in the NFL for a decade now and has 21 starts in 88 games for the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Dolphins. The sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft spent the last three seasons with the Dolphins and had visits with the Saints, Jets, and Bills earlier this offseason. In 2018 he played 121 snaps. Eighty-five at right tackle, 28 at left tackle, and the other eight came as an inline tight end.
