Monday Night Football’s injury report: Temperatures could be record-setting

16 49ers will not play tonight

The San Francisco 49ers will kick off against the Denver Broncos in about two hours from now. We’ll get a chance to see Jimmy Garoppolo and the offense tonight. Presumably for a couple of series. We likely won’t be able to see the starting linebacker duo of Kwon Alexander and Fred Warner, but do we need to?

The real story is the weather. At this moment of writing, the temperature is 96 degrees.

The altitude is usually what we talk about when teams’ travel to Denver. The temperature will naturally drop, but they’re expected to remain in the lower 90s at kickoff. That would make it the hottest in Broncos history. Here is Chris Bianchi, of the Denver Post.

“If Monday’s kickoff temperature is 93 degrees or above, it’d be hotter than any Denver Broncos game in team history. The current record is a 92-degree kickoff temperature, set just last September. Three preseason games also have featured a kickoff temperature of 92 degrees, most recently a 2010 exhibition against the Detroit Lions.”
