It’s tough not to be impressed with the plays he highlighted

Who knew that the most talked about player from Monday Night Football’s win over the Denver Broncos would be UDFA DT Kevin Givens. Scott had his breakdown yesterday. NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger included Givens in his daily “Baldy Breakdowns,” so you know the rookie must have impressed him.

Baldinger praises Given’s quickness and effort. You’ll see in the clip below that Givens isn’t only winning, but he’s impacting the play as well. Baldinger called Givens “the best defensive lineman on the field. Here’s more from the clip:

“He played 37 snaps [on Monday] night, and he’s a disruptive guy. When you watch him play, he just has this ability in a short space, in a phone booth to make you miss. There’s no drill at the combine that can measure Kevin Givens. That’s why he [was an undrafted free agent]. He’s undersized. He did play 39 straight games at Penn State, starting a bunch of them, never injured. The guy is relentless.”

Baldinger also cited how the San Francisco 49ers have been looking for a penetrating defensive tackle like this for years. Here is the breakdown below, if you haven’t seen it.

This guy is going to make somebody’s roster, and it might be the 49ers.”
