Preseason Week 3 open thread: Let’s all watch Tampa Bay tonight

There are two games on the schedule tonight

There are only two games on the NFL schedule for Friday night. One of those games may be worth your time, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Cleveland Browns at 4:30 p.m. PT. The San Francisco 49ers will be playing in Tampa during Week 1 of the regular season. Will the Bucs show much? Probably not. That won’t stop the Niners coaching staff from watching closely tonight.

The Browns like to spread it out, and throw the ball down the field. If they have some success against Tampa Bay, I wonder if we’ll see Kyle Shanahan steal the plays that worked tonight. Another thing to keep an eye on is Cleveland’s defensive line against Tampa Bay’s offensive line. The Browns, like the Niners, upgraded their front four significantly this offseason. Steve Wilks is far more aggressive than Robert Saleh when it comes to blitzing, but Saleh could come around in 2019 now that he has more toys to play with.

The other game tonight kicks off at 5 p.m. PT, where the Detroit Lions face the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen looks like a changed man early in preseason. This game shouldn’t be anywhere near as watchable as the first game, though.
