After a poor offensive performance against the Denver Broncos last Monday night, the San Francisco 49ers came to play on the offensive side of the football against the Kansas City Chiefs. They were efficient, and finally, we didn’t see any penalties that stalled drives.
We’ve seen Damontre Moore and Kendrick Bourne both win the coveted “Kory Sheets was our Future” award. That’s the award that honors the best and worst fan post in Niners Nation history. Fooch described this to me as a player has to have a monster fourth quarter during the preseason.
Quasi related: I see more and more Marcus Rush jokes for Moore. That’s cold. Moore had another impressive showing Saturday night, including this sack where he tossed the right tackle out of the way. I’m not saying Moore is Charles Haley, but I would love to see him get 15-20 snaps a game.
If Nick Mullens doesn’t miss Jordan Matthews on that long pass streaking down the middle of the field, this award is probably going to Matthews. He had a couple of other nice catches on the ensuing drive. Moore had two sacks and two quarterback hits, but he’s already won it, and I like touchdowns. So congratulations, Jeff Wilson. Wilson finished the night with 45 yards on 12 carries, but he did have two touchdowns.
Who would you have given the award to?
