Seahawks acquire Jadeveon Clowney from Texans

49ers interested in LeSean McCoy?

We knew the Seattle Seahawks were in talks with acquiring Jadeveon Clowney, and on Saturday morning, the trade became official, per Jay Glazer of The Athletic. Glazer said that the trade is contingent on Clowney and other players involved passing physicals. The details of the trade make it seem like Seattle came away with a steal.

Per Ian Rapoport, Seattle gets Clowney, and the Texans get a third-round pick, LB Jacob Martin, and pass-rusher Barkevious Mingo. Seahawks fans made it seem like Mingo wasn’t even a roster lock. Houston’s offensive line isn’t very good, while Seattle isn’t known for their offensive line, you would have thought the Texans would have gotten more in return for a player of Clowney’s caliber.

I’m not sure why this is a thing, but NFL Network’s Steve Wyche threw out the idea that the San Francisco 49ers should be interested in....a running back? The Buffalo Bills released LeSean McCoy on Saturday morning, and Wyche thinks the Niners should make a play for the 31-year old running back. This comes after the Niners placed Jerick McKinnon on the IR, but why would McCoy want to split touches? It’s a move that doesn’t make much sense.
