Week 1 preseason open thread: Football is here

The San Francisco 49ers will kick off their exhibition season Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys. Thursday night marks the start of the preseason with 11 games on the schedule. You won’t see starters for too long tonight. There will probably be plenty of key players that sit out. Week’s 1 & 4 are usually to get an extended look at the players that are fighting for a roster spot.

The 49ers pro scouts will be busy this weekend as they look for possible players that will be cut around the league. With the injuries mounting up, the team may look to bring in more players than they initially intended. The first games kick off at 4 p.m. PT, where the Bills host the Colts, and the Giants host the Jets. Five games kick off at 4:30 p.m. Two more at 5 p.m. and the last two games of the evening start at 7 p.m. tonight.
