After Tevin Coleman went down with what has now been diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain, Raheem Mostert came in and provided a much needed spark to an otherwise stagnant offense. I really don’t understand the reason Kyle Shanahan felt the need to channel his inner Jimmy Raye, but those runs up the middle weren’t working. So it was rather refreshing when Mostert came in and bounced his runs outside. He finished the day with 9 carries for 40 yards, and looked just like the electric runner from last year whose opportunity was cut short by a broken arm. Obviously Matt Breida will take over the starting slot, but Mostert will get another chance to show what he’s got while Coleman heals up. So enough of this Melvin Gordon talk please.
With Tevin Coleman dealing with an injured ankle, #49ers RB Raheem Mostert was given a larger role & made the most of his opportunities.
