San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had an up and down Week 1 in Tampa Bay. While eating a W on the road is always an accomplishment in the NFL, Garoppolo struggled to shake off the mounting anxiety around his ability to effectively play quarterback. He completed 18 passes on 27 throws and threw for 166 yards with a touchdown and an interception. His 6.15 yards per attempt on the day were the lowest of his career, and his performance has been widely criticized.
Using the All-22 coaches film, this video analyzes several of the key concepts that Garoppolo struggled to execute. While there is still optimism heading forward, drastic improvement is necessary heading into Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
