The San Francisco 49ers head into Week 2 with a win! It’s time to keep this winning thing going as they go to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. Things get going this morning at 10:00 AM PT. The game will air on FOX as a regional broadcast. Thom Brennaman and Chris Spielman will be calling the game.
The 49ers are 1-0 for the first time since 2016 and are looking to build on that momentum. They beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, but it was a very sloppy affair, especially for the offense. Jimmy Garoppolo still has some rust to knock off from his knee injury if the 49ers offense can stand a chance. The star of last week was the 49ers defense which had three interceptions, two of which were pick sixes.
The Bengals were seen as one of the worst teams in the league coming into the season, but Andy Dalton had a career day in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, throwing for over 400 yards. Unfortunately, the Bengals came up short at the end of the game. It wasn’t without Seattle controversy as a sketchy fumble call sealed the deal for the Seahawks and stopped any chance of the Bengals getting a chance at the winning field goal. Under new head coach Zac Taylor, the Bengals will be looking to get their first win against the 49ers.
The 49ers will be without wide receivers Jalen Hurd, Trent Taylor, and running back Tevin Coleman. Free safety Jimmie Ward is questionable as is defensive end Nick Bosa.
The Bengals are without wide receiver A.J. Green and left tackle Cordy Glenn. Running back Joe Mixon is questionable.
