Thursday Night Football kicks off in about 15 minutes, with the Jacksonville Jaguars playing the Tennessee Titans. While the story should be Gardner Minshew, who has been surprisingly effective, all eyes will be on Jalen Ramsey. The star cornerback requested a trade earlier this week after a tirade on the sideline with head coach Doug Marrone.
The Jaguars have lost 12 of their past 14 games, yet are siding with the coach over an All-Pro 24-year old that is on a rookie contract. That doesn’t even feel right to type, but welcome to the NFL. Jacksonville reportedly wants two first-rounders, and maybe even more. I have it on pretty good authority that the Jags want two firsts and a player. I’ve also heard that the San Francisco 49ers did indeed make an offer. You’ve probably heard plenty of rumors. Every team should be interested. Ramsey is that good. The odds your first-rounder next year will become as good as Ramsey did are slim.
From what I know, Ramsey will be a Raven or a Seahawk soon enough. Baltimore needs to up its offer, though. The Raiders are also in the mix. So, if this source is correct, those are the three finalists.
There isn’t anything interesting to talk about on the Titans, though Tennesee does have some depth at offensive tackle that may be worth exploring. Enjoy the game!
