Welcome to Week 1 of the NFL season. The San Francisco 49ers get going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this afternoon, but we have some morning games to knock out. There’s plenty of football to watch and since we’ve gone a few months without any good football, it’s about [site-decorum] time.
So what’s everybody watching today? Those of you new to the program can consider this our “Non-49ers game-day thread” where we can talk about the action on Sunday. We’ll have these every Sunday with the schedules.
It’s Week 1, so expect some sloppy football. There will be a bunch of penalties and botched plays since everyone is knocking rust off from the offseason. Things don’t get interesting until Week 3 or 4, but this will be far more interesting than preseason.
As for me, I’m interested in the Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns matchup. This new-look Cleveland offense has a capable opponent in the Titans. If they are as good as everyone pegs them as, Cleveland should win this game. Not handily, but they should get a win. I’d love to see how Odell Beckham Jr. looks with a different team and offensive system and if this is the year Cleveland finally gets it together.
