Louis Riddick is tired of the disrespect Jimmy Garoppolo is getting, so he’s rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, more specifically, he’s rooting for the Chiefs to stop the 49ers run game. Doing so puts the emphasis on Jimmy Garoppolo and a chance for him to show his stuff on the biggest stage.
I want the #Chiefs to neutralize the #49ers run game. I want Jimmy G to have to throw in order for SF to have a chance to win. I think he is being big-time underestimated and over looked.

It’s hard to root for anything Chiefs, but this a scenario fans can get behind and one that you almost hope could happen just to put a stop to the negative criticism thrown Garoppolo’s way. Garoppolo might not be the reason the 49ers won their two playoff games, but he’s certainly a reason they made it that far so they could subsequently do what they did to win those playoff games. Ignoring that fact is rather disturbing.
Super Bowl or not, if I had a choice on how the 49ers win, I could do without any more nail biters for the rest of the 2019/2020 season. The season has definitely chopped 10 years off my lifespan. I’d prefer this thing to be over before then with Jimmy Garoppolo showing his stuff through the entire game and a fourth quarter comeback isn’t needed. That said, if he needs to have a fourth quarter comeback to get the respect he deserves, have at it. I’d love to see the team lean on him in the final minutes of the Super Bowl and he once again puts together a drive that gets the 49ers to win this thing.
Shutting down the 49ers run game is going to be mighty difficult. The Chiefs run defense isn’t the greatest and if they sell out to stop it, it’s going to make them very vulnerable (something Garoppolo has reminded several teams when they try).
No matter what, I’m hoping this Jimmy Garoppolo criticism can be put to bed once and for all. The fact that people still question him after what he’s done is almost disturbing at this point.
