Here we are on the Friday morning before the Super Bowl. Anyone else feeling both overwhelmed and a bit burned out by all of the media hype? Half of it is a repetition of things we have been reading about for the last three years. We are continuously being inundated by tons of repetitive information being reported over and over. Then every sports reporter and past NFL player has to give their opinion of who is going to win and half the time it is very apparent they have no idea what they are talking about. Fortunately there is only a couple of more days left before the 49ers take their sixth Lombardi Trophy and go home.
One article that caught my attention though is written by Kyle Madson for Niners Wire:
49ers LBs have chance to shine vs. Chiefs
In the article, Kyle explains how the Chiefs use the speed of their wide receivers to exploit opposing linebackers and how the 49ers linebacker just might be athletic enough to keep up with them. He mentions how it isn’t about winning a foot race and mentions their PFF scores. It is definitely worth a read, especially if you are like me and you think the play of our linebacker is directly linked to the successes of our defensive line and secondary. I think our linebackers might be the most underrated players in this year’s Super Bowl.
I also personally think too much is being made about Kansas City’s speed and not enough is being said about how much the 49ers physicality will more than likely have a major impact on the game. Have a great Super Bowl!
