We rarely say this, but the San Francisco 49er practice report has been consistent all week. Linebacker Kwon Alexander, edge rusher Dee Ford, safety Jaquiski Tartt, and right guard Mark Person all participated during Thursday’s practice and are on track to play Saturday. The 49ers haven’t been this healthy since the second week of the season when Joe Staley suffered an injury. The official practice report will be out in an hour or so. Alexander needs to be activated before you’ll see a designation under him, which Kyle Shanahan said is the plan.
Alexander practiced in a blue, non-contact jersey all week. He took a tumble during practice Wednesday, and our good friend Grant Cohn tweeted that Alexander tweaked his forearm. Dr. Cohn was wrong, and all is well with Alexander.
Shanahan says that the 49ers will activate Kwon Alexander off the IR. Dee Ford (hamstring) and Kentavius Street are officially questionable. Jaquiski Tartt and RG Mike Person will suit up. Shanahan would not say who will start at right guard.
On the Vikings side of things, Adam Thielen is officially listed as questionable, though it’s tough to imagine he won’t play. Thielen had to get stitches in his left ankle following an injury at practice on Wednesday. He cut his ankle during practice, and that’s why he’s listed on the injury report. Mike Zimmer was mum on how the injury happened and if it would limit Thielen during the game. Zimmer said, “I don’t know; we don’t talk about things that happened in practice.” Thielen said he got “tangled up” and that was as specific as he got.
“It is what it is,” Thielen said. “At that point, you’re just trying to figure out how to get out there on Saturday. That’s my mindset. Do whatever it takes to get out there Saturday and help this team win. You just trust the doctors and opinions and do whatever it takes to get out there on Saturday. That’s my mindset. I’m preparing for Saturday. I’m going to do whatever it takes to help this team win. Whatever that role is, I’m going to be out there and doing my thing.”
Stefon Diggs wasn’t on the final injury report for the Vikings. He said, “even if. I was 30%. I would be out there.”
OUT: CB Mackensie Alexander
