The San Francisco 49ers returned to the practice field on Thursday, where Jimmy Garopppolo, D.J. Jones, and Emmanuel Moseley all practiced in full. Moseley practiced without a blue non-contact jersey, which is a good sign he’ll be available Sunday against the Rams. Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh spoke highly of Moseley and his study habits. During practice on Wednesday, Moseley didn’t recognize one of the plays and went up to Saleh, the defensive coordinator said. It turned out that the scout team offense had messed up, which impressed Saleh. That speaks to Moseley’s preparation.
Kwon Alexander did not practice as he’s suffering a high-ankle sprain. That’s not new news; neither is Dontae Johnson missing a second straight practice with a groin injury. Marcell Harris did not practice with an ankle injury. Perhaps the biggest injury was to Jeff Wilson Jr. The running back was working on the side of the practice. He has a calf injury. If Wilson can’t play Sunday, that would mean JaMycal Hasty is the 49ers No. 3 running back Sunday night.
Here’s a look at the practice report from Thursday:
