Thursday began on a sad note with the death of 49ers great and Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Dean at the age of 68. The Niners traded for Dean in 1981 and he helped them win both Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XIX.
“From the minute he joined the 49ers, Fred immediately helped to change the team’s fortunes,” the team said in a statement, “One of the most feared defenders in the game, he is remembered as a quiet, fun-loving, sincere, country gentleman. Fred’s accolades were numerous, but his love for the game, his teammates and those close to him are what endeared him to so many.”
Also in this episode, we listen to George Kittle explain why the 49ers took a step forward on Wednesday, while Raheem Mostert says the pass game can’t be, “nonexistent” this week.
