With their backs against the wall and no margin for error, the 49ers rode an almost perfect first half to a 24-16 upset of the Rams to even their record at 3-3.

After the game, Kyle Shanahan was quick to praise his team for responding to the adversity that came with losses to Philadelphia and Miami.

“When you get embarrassed like we did last week, you can find out a lot about your team. Usually when stuff like that happens, guys either give in because it gets too hard and they try to hide and point fingers a little bit. Or, guys try to step it up and get better. I was very impressed with the character of our team...and really the way they responded to all of us getting embarrassed.”

Jimmy Garoppolo finished 23 of 33 for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns, most of which came in the first half of the game. As was pointed out on the Sunday Night Football broadcast, Garoppolo has now gone 30 games without losing two in a row.
