San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan met with the media before Wednesday’s practice to provide a few injury updates. The good news is the imaging came back on Trent Williams, and nothing is broken, and he does not have a high-ankle sprain. Shanahan said that Williams’s pain is still too much, and he will not practice Wednesday, and neither would Jaquiski Tartt. These players will not practice Wednesday:

RB Raheem Mostert (ankle)

LT Trent Williams (ankle)

S Jaquiski Tartt (groin)

LB Kwon Alexander (ankle)

Shanahan said Richard Sherman is in a boot and letting his calf heal. He said the 49ers could be without Sherm until possibly the bye week. He’s still responding to the treatment received last week. The Niners bye week is Week 11, November 29. While Kyle said Sherman could return around the bye week, he didn’t say that it’s a for sure thing. Shanahan said he had hoped to have answers regarding Sherman’s injury, but it’ll be “a few weeks,” and this has “gone a little longer than expected.” He added that the same applied to Dee Ford. There weren’t any new updates on Ford, just that the team is hopeful he returns around the bye. At this point, I’d be surprised if we see either of those two play this season. I’ll believe it when it happens.

Shanahan wasn’t too happy about Jimmy Garoppolo lowering his shoulder, though he acknowledged that he did help the team on that play later on during the Zoom call. Shanahan said he “definitely didn’t like it, and neither did Jimmy.”

The 49ers also announced that they’d signed Daniel Helm to the practice squad.
