The San Francisco 49ers are about an hour and a half away from kicking off against the New England Patriots. The team just released its inactives for today, and there aren’t any real surprises:
- LB Kwon Alexander (ankle)
- S Jaquiski Tartt (groin)
- S Jimmie Ward (quad)
- QB C.J. Beathard
- WR Dante Pettis
- CB Parnell Motley
Pettis is a healthy scratch for the third game in a row. The 49ers have been open about trading the once-promising receiver.
Nick Mullens is the backup quarterback once again.
The safety rotation will be something to keep an eye on today. Knowing the Patriots rely heavily on the run, that could determine who plays the most. Tackling will be critical, and the last thing you want is a missed tackle from your last line of defense. Tarvarius Moore, Marcell Harris, and possibly Johnathan Cyprien will see extensive action for the first time this season.
Here are the Patriots inactives:
- DT Carl Davis
- CB Myles Bryant
- RB J.J. Taylor
- QB Brian Hoyer
- S Kyle Dugger
- TE Devin Asiasi
Dugger being inactive is a big blow for New England.
