The Bears are facing the Rams

The Chicago Bears are on the road for the second week in a row to face the Los Angeles Rams, who are coming off a humiliating loss to the Niners. The Rams are 6.5-point favorites. The majority of the betting public has taken the Bears in this one, as they only remember what happened last week. What they’re ignoring is the 49ers see that offense every day in practice and training camp. Plus, it’s a divisional game. The Rams are a better team than they showed on Sunday night football.

Jared Goff can’t play that poorly two weeks in a row, right? Right? The Bears are middle of the pack in pressure and QB knockdown percentage, as well as total sacks. Goff should have time, but he has to be accurate, and that won’t be easy against a Bears defense that’s second in dropback success rate and sixth in dropback EPA. Los Angeles will be without tight end Tyler Higbee as well.

This should be a lower scoring game, as the Rams defense should keep Nick Foles in check. I think we can expect Jalen Ramsey to shadow Allen Robinson. ESPN’s Brian Burke had a laughable thread on Monday morning, where he tried to paint the picture that Aaron Donald is bad against the run. There are plays where Donald could improve as a run defender, but that thread cites plays where Donald is doing his job and maintaining his responsibilities and gaps. One play showed Donald on a stunt, and Burke said it was a bad play.

Anyway, we should root for the Bears, but I have a feeling the Rams cover and do so easily.
