It’s no secret that the 49ers haven’t had much success slowing down mobile quarterbacks over the last two seasons. Whether it was Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, or Russell Wilson, opposing signal-callers haven’t had trouble finding room to run against San Francisco recently.

With Russ and the Seahawks coming up this week, scrambling quarterbacks are once again part of the conversation. In today’s Stats & Eggs, we hear from former 49ers safety Donte Whitner talking about the strategy Robert Saleh should use to try and keep Wilson from getting those crippling first downs with his feet. Two words: mush rush.

Whitner also explained that Jamar Taylor needs to be on high alert this Sunday if K’Waun Williams isn’t able to come back from injury, and Michael Irvin made an interesting point about Jimmy Garoppolo’s relationship with him teammates.

Please take a listen to the podcast - it’ll only take up about five minutes of your time and you’ll get caught up on everything happening with the team.
