It’s been a hectic few days for a few NFL teams. Three more Titans tested positive for COVID, which bought their team total to at least 16. New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive on Saturday, as did Kansas City’s practice squad quarterback. That led to the game being postponed to either Monday or Tuesday night. The NFL went relatively unscathed for the first couple of weeks, but that changed this past week quickly. I don’t know about you, but something about a reaction of “man, I hope they can play a couple of days later” doesn’t sit right with me when we’re talking about the health of a human being.
The Saints are four-point favorites on the road against the Lions. New Orleans will be without Michael Thomas along with five other starters. This year will be about attrition, and New Orleans can’t afford to start 1-3. Go Detroit!
The Chargers are on the road against the Bucs. Tampa Bay will be without Chris Godwin. For my betting pals out there, take the under. The Bucs defense has been impressive, and I’d argue that they’ve been the best in the NFL through three weeks.
Baltimore is on the road against Washington. That’ll be a nice bounceback game for them.
The Cardinals are three-point favorites on the road against the Panthers, but Joe Brady has schemed open guys, and I’d expect a high-scoring game. The only question is whether Carolina can get stops on Kyler Murray, who did not play well against the Lions man coverage last week.
The Jaguars are on the road against the Bengals. Gardner Minshew’s magic wore off last week against the Dolphins, but I believe he’ll play well against Cincy today. I have money on the Jags if you’re looking to fade me.
Speaking of bets, the final game is Seattle on the road against Miami. I’ve bet against the Seahawks two times this year and lost both times. Third times a charm, right? The Dolphins are 6.5-point underdogs, and this feels like a letdown spot for Russ and company as they have to fly across the country.
What games will be you be watching this morning?
