Injury updates: Shanahan says Ansah will go in the IR with a torn biceps injury

K’Waun Williams also didn’t return with a knee injury

There weren’t many updates injury-wise after today’s game. Kyle Shanahan said the San Francisco 49ers would place Ezekiel Ansah on the injured reserve with a torn biceps injury. That likely means the season is over for Ansah, who was already the team’s, what, fifth-string edge rusher? The 49ers will have to bring in someone else as they’ll be without Ronald Blair for at least two more weeks. It won’t be easy to find a competent pass rusher at this stage in the season. Cameron Wake? Clay Matthews? Terrell Suggs? There are veterans out there, but they’d hardly be game-changers, though the Niners don’t need them to come in and be “all-world.”

K’Waun Williams did not return with a knee injury. There were no new updates on Williams’s knee injury. Jason Verrett left the game with a hand injury, but he returned. Dante Pettis was being looked at with a knee injury, but he returned as well.

The press conferences are going on as I type this, but the overwhelming message was, “we’re disappointed, but we’re not panicking.”
