Will the 49ers show any urgency this Sunday?

Here are my three keys to victory this week

The phrase, “must-win game” is tired and frequently overused - especially in a league where upsets happen every single week. The Bears just beat Tom Brady in a prime time game. That said, if the 49ers want to make anything out of this season, this week’s game against Miami is one that absolutely must end up in the win column.

In order to do that, the 49ers have to do three specific things, and they aren’t all unrelated:

  1. Actually block somebody
  2. Rediscover the chunk plays
  3. Stop Ryan Fitzpatrick from hurting you with his legs

I elaborate on these more in the episode, but that’s what it comes down to for me. The first two are clearly connected, but it is possible for them to block well enough to move the chains without gashing the Dolphins with, “explosives,” as Kyle Shanahan calls them.

Plus, I was lucky enough to be joined by one of my favorite people in the sports media business, John Jastremski of WFAN radio in New York. JJ is a huge Dolphins fan, and he also hosts a daily sports betting show as well, so we dove into some of the most interesting lines of Week 5.
