Clearly, the only good thing about last Thursday night was the play of Richie James, who racked up a career-high 184 receiving yards and scored a touchdown on nine catches. Many 49ers fans have been clamoring for James to get more playing time, even before the rash of injuries in the receiver room.
With Kendrick Bourne possibly missing a second straight game after another positive COVID-19 test, will the Richie James show continue in New Orleans? Should it continue regardless of Bourne’s COVID status?
Right now Bourne is third on the team with 352 yards on 25 catches. James has those 184 yards he notched against Green Bay. Both have caught one touchdown on the year. I sense a feeling among the Faithful that Bourne has reached his ceiling, while James is still a bit of an unknown due to the fact that he’s only played in 33 games in his entire career.
All that and more can be found in today’s Stats & Eggs podcast, which will catch you up on everything you need to know about the team in less than five minutes.
