Early morning game thread: Five games on the early slate

The NFL split the early game slate and the afternoon slate equally as The Masters finishes up their final round. If golf is your thing, Dustin Johnson has a two-stroke lead as he heads to the back nine. He’s never won a tourney after leading through 54 holes. That’s the extent of my golf analysis.

There are five early games on the slate today. Washington is on the road against Detroit, where former Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib makes his broadcasting debut. That may be worth tuning in alone.

The Eagles are 4.5-point favorites on the road against the Giants. Dante Pettis is inactive, as their reporters believe Pettis makes his New York debut after the team’s bye week, which is Week 11. The Giants are 2-7 but could still win the NFC East

The Jaguars are 13.5-point underdogs against the Packers. Green Bay figures to win big as Jake Luton takes on Aaron Rodgers.

Tampa Bay is on the road and will take on the feisty Carolina Panthers. The Bucs are six-point favorites as they look to rebound after getting blown out by the Saints last Sunday night.

The final game this morning predicts awful weather in Cleveland, where the Texans are headed to face the Browns. Deshaun Watson and company are 4.5-point underdogs. A report came out Sunday morning that Houston is leaning on keeping Romeo Crennel as their long-term head coach.
