The San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Saints was disappointing as it felt for a good part of that game that the Niners were the better team. On defense, they held New Orleans to 2-of-12 on third down. Kyle Shanahan spoke after the game, and his message seemed in line with what I said above. He also added that turnovers were an issue, and you don’t give yourself a chance you make the mistakes the Niners did today.

On the injury front, Shanahan said JaMycal Hasty suffered a broken collarbone. That’s a bummer for the rookie, and it’d be surprising if we see him for the rest of the season. The good news for the offense is it’s expecting Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman back for the Rams game on Nov. 29.

Nick Mullens went down for a play. He said he was shaken up and “couldn’t breathe.” He returned and said he’s “fine.” Mullens was diagnosed with a quad injury.

Jonathan Cyprien did not return after suffering a hamstring injury. Jared Mayden had a quad injury, and Jerick McKinnon suffered a stinger. We’ll have more injury updates Monday afternoon.
