It can be very easy sometimes to get buried under an avalanche of bad news. That’s doubly true this season for the 49ers and their fans. But rather than rehash the injuries or the inconsistent play at the quarterback position, let’s look at something good coming out of this year - the emergence of rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Aiyuk has really come on strong the last two weeks, racking up 14 catches, 206 yards and a touchdown, despite catching passes from multiple quarterbacks. When he met the media yesterday, Aiyuk said he is ready to maximize his opportunities during the absences of Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.

If you need more proof, Pro Football Focus has given Aiyuk one of the highest grades among rookie wide receivers, in a class that featured one of the deepest pools of players in the last decade.

You can hear what Aiyuk had to say as well as catch up on all of yesterday’s biggest stories in less than five minutes with this edition of the Stats & Eggs podcast. If you like it, subscribe, rate and review, please.
