If there was ever a test of the, “Kyle Shanahan schemes everyone open” narrative, tonight’s game against the Packers will definitely be it. Due to a positive COVID-19 test and some potentially at-risk players, the 49ers could suit up Trent Taylor, Richie James (maybe). Kevin White and River Cracraft at wide receiver. In their careers, those guys have caught a combined six touchdown catches. Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has seven touchdown catches this season.

So, yeah, if Kyle has any magic left, tonight is going to be the night to use it.

Also covered in today’s Stats and Eggs were two interesting tweets. One came from Shanaplan co-host Akash Anavarathan, who pointed out that Jimmy Garoppolo has missed almost as much time as Dee Ford without taking nearly as much criticism for doing so.

The other came from Steelers reporter Brook Pryor, who says Chase Claypool has a friend on the Niners that told her something which shocked me about what the 49ers do on Thursdays each week. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, I just didn’t see it coming.
