The San Francisco 49ers announced they removed Brandon Aiyuk, D.J. Jones, and Jordan Willis off the Reserve/COVID-19 list. On Tuesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said he expects all three to practice Thursday. If it feels like we haven’t seen Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel on the field much together, that’s because it’s true. Whether injury or COVID, the two have rarely shared the field this season. That won’t be the case for the rest of the month.

Jones and Willis will be a big boost, as well. Willis has been quietly productive in limited action for the Niners this season. With a mobile quarterback like Josh Allen, San Francisco will need all the pass rush help they can get Monday night against the Bills.

The 49ers also signed safety Chris Edwards to the practice squad. Safety Kai Nacua was moved from the practice squad to the active roster. Nacua is likely the special teams replacement for Ken Webster. Finally, the 49ers opened the practice window for linebacker Mark Nzeocha. San Francisco could use his skills on special teams as well.
