The 49ers losing to a Dallas Cowboys team that isn’t very good made Week 15’s game painful to watch. As has been the case most of the season, it’s not that the 49ers were thoroughly outplayed, it’s that they continued to shoot themselves in the foot and make the same mistakes to prevent them from winning.
Despite a loss to the Cowboys, our confidence polls rose five percent after Week 15:
Is that because George Kittle is going to play? Is that because it can’t possibly get worse? I’m not sure the answer to those questions, but I’d love to know.
Speaking of Kittle, he said that the team is looking to end the season on a high note and that part of the reason he returned was that Kittle had a sour taste in his mouth. Since San Francisco is eliminated from playoff contention, Kittle said they wanted to make life difficult for Arizona. That’s another look as to why Kittle is playing and how the players think.
The national question asked who should win the MVP. In a surprise to nobody, the answer was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes:
Justin Herbert ran away with the Rookie of the Year voting as he received over 55% of the votes.
Jefferson is special. I’m surprised he’s not higher.
The same can be said for Defensive Player of the Year, as Aaron Donald received over 55% of the votes. Myles Garrett received under 10% of the votes, which is a joke.
Finally, the Coach of the Year voting was close, as Brian Flores received just under 30% of the votes, while the other three candidates all received over 15% of the votes:
