San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media Monday afternoon to discuss a few injury updates. He mentioned that Brandon Aiyuk suffered a high-ankle sprain on the third play of Saturday’s game but played through the injury after retapping his ankle. Aiyuk will miss Sunday’s season-finale against the Seahawks and fall short of breaking Jerry Rice’s rookie receiving record.

Trent Williams suffered an elbow sprain and will miss Week 17 as well. Justin Skule, who was initially the team’s backup left tackle and started at right guard, suffered a knee injury and is day-to-day. We don’t know who the left tackle will be on Sunday, but it’s likely to be the third starter this season at the position for the 49ers.

Aiyuk wasn’t the other player to suffer a high-ankle sprain Saturday. Edge rusher Jordan Willis did as well, and he’s out Sunday. Tarvarius Moore, who Shanahan said played his best game of the season, suffered an ankle injury and is day-to-day.

K’Wuan Williams was banged up and had an ankle injury. Jeff Wilson Jr. suffered a stinger. Both players are healthy and “good to go” for Sunday.

Richard Sherman will miss the season finale with a calf injury. Javon Kinlaw and Dion Jordan remain day-to-day.

The 49ers placed LS Taybor Pepper on the Reserve/COVID-10 list along with C Hroniss Grasu. Austin Walter and Josh Hokit (practice) has been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list So, expect the team to sign a long-snapper this week unless the team is comfortable with someone on the roster who could snap.

Don’t expect to see Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday. Shanahan said he’d be “shocked” if the 49ers doctors cleared Jimmy G. He added that it’s good for Garoppolo to get out and practice, but it’s unlikely that the doctors' opinions would change before Sunday.

Finally, Shanahan was hopeful Jauan Jennings could suit up on Sunday, but he said the severity of Jennings's hamstring injury was too much to overcome. Jennings will get a practice or two in this week, but that will be all.
