The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice on Thursday, as did Brandon Aiyuk. Remember how we discussed that haven’t seen much of Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel together in Thursday’s Golden Nuggets? Well, that remained true as Samuel didn’t practice Thursday afternoon. Don’t worry, he’s not hurt. Kyle Shanahan said the team is being cautious as Deebo is a bit sore still from Sunday’s game and with the Niners traveling on Wendesday, Shanahan said the 49ers would play it safe with Samuel. He was on the side doing sprints during practice.

Here’s Shanahan’s explanation:

“We’re going to hold [WR] Deebo [Samuel] out, just so his hamstring, same as last time. Just being smart with him. No, no setback. He’s just still sore from the game. Especially after traveling yesterday and stuff, being on a plane, we don’t want to get him out there with what’s happened to him this year and have him go full speed and risk anything with the hamstring.”

Here is the practice report for Thursday:

DNP: WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
CB K’Waun Williams (ankle)

Limited:

CB Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring)

Full:

WR Brandon Aiyuk (not injury related)
DT D.J. Jones (not injury related)
DE Jordan Willis (not injury related)
