Another Hawkeye joins the team!

NFL: NFC Championship-Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Hey everyone,

I thought it’d be a good idea to go ahead and give myself a proper introduction before I really dug into content and had you all wondering who was this random guy running around the community out of nowhere.

My name is Michael Peterson, and I am one of the brand-new community editors for SB Nation’s California Fan Communities.

Let’s just start with some basics.

I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and played tight end at Drake University (Des Moines, IA) before finishing out my undergrad years at The University of Iowa. I am a die-hard Iowa Hawkeye fan, so you can all bet I’m a massive fan of the people’s tight end, George Kittle and former Hawkeye quarterback CJ Beathard. Both are great guys that I was lucky enough to spend time with in college.

I’ve been the Deputy Manager for Bolts From The Blue for the last two years, and now in my new position, I have the opportunity to help out my good friend Kyle Posey here at Niner’s Nation. Kyle and I actually met in Iowa, and he’s a big reason I am even here, so I have to give a big shoutout to him.

My father is also from the San Francisco area (Rohnert Park, to be exact) and grew up supporting the Niners. It was an amazing experience getting to watch the Super Bowl with him, and I’m pumped to now be able to help cover the 49ers.

As a former tight end, I’m excited to cover a team that utilizes one the way the Niners have so far in Kittle’s career. I love to #RunTheDamnBall, and the zone offense that Kyle Shanahan has mastered is just so much fun to watch.

Some of my hobbies include working out, spending time with my new wife, and obsessing a little too much over Madden Ultimate Team.

I couldn’t be more stoked to get to know all of you in the NN community as we continue stoking this momentum that the team has collected from the 2019 season.

If any of you have any questions about me or want to just chop it up about the Niners or football in general, don’t be afraid to reach out on my twitter account @ZoneTracks.

I can’t wait to meet you all!
