The 2020 NFL Draft is still 55 days away, but with the combine taking place this week the NFL Draft season for fans and media is in full swing.
And for 49ers fans, the 2020 draft season brings a change of scenery as the Niners will be selecting from the back end of the first round for the first time since 2014 when they selected Jimmie Ward with the 30th pick.
We’re beginning to see potential names emerge for the 49ers first round pick at #31 overall this year, and one name is beginning to come up more and more frequently:
Grant Delpit, Safety, LSU
Of course, Mel Kiper may have started the ball rolling back in January when he made Delpit the selection for the 49ers, but it didn’t really catch on until recently, as fans and media began making the case:
I want 49ers to draft Grant Delpit LSU #49ers

The #49ers should already be targeting Grant Delpit in the first round. #NFLDrafthttps://t.co/Dfy9BBp4vz

Grant Delpit is a popular #49ers pick in mock drafts. He was their selection in the @TheNFLWire pre-combine mock. Delpit falling to San Francisco could be advantageous whether the 49ers need a safety or not. https://t.co/gJfYq5k70a

So what do you think Niners Nation, should the 49ers select Delpit at pick 31 if he’s available? Should they pass? Let us know in the comments below!
