Per Ian Rapoport, the San Francisco 49ers are re-signing center Ben Garland to a one-year deal worth $2.25 million. Garland filled inn for Weston Richburg admirably and played well when it mattered down the stretch. He’s a good depth signing that’s needed along the interior offensive line. Richburg should be ready to roll by the time training camp is here, but in the event, he’s not, now the 49ers have a competent backup. This gives Garland a raise of about $1.45 million. Not too shabby.
Here is a look at the players the 49ers have retained:
DL Arik Armstead
FS Jimmie Ward
OL Shon Coleman
DL Ronald Blair
RB Jerick McKinnon (restructured)
WR Kendrick Bourne (tendered)
RB Matt Breida (tendered)
