Emmanuel Sanders took to Facebook Live and TheFangage.com on Thursday afternoon to hold video chat and online autograph session. Sanders went through a bunch of questions. His favorite athlete growing up was Deion Sanders. He was asked what it’s like playing for San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan: “I love Kyle. I love being around his energy and coolness.” After football, Sanders wants to get into TV and broadcasting.
The next question was finally about free agency. Sanders was asked about the chatter that he’s going to sign with the Cowboys: I love it in Texas. Maybe, I don’t know. We’ll see. There might be something there. We’ll see. It would be fun to play in Texas.”
Sanders went to SMU, which is right outside of Dallas. He also went to high school three hours from Dallas. So that’s home for Sanders, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him end up in Dallas. Sanders continued, as he said he’s “weighing my options”:
Hopefully, we can run it back, but we’ll see. The hardest thing about free agency is sometimes you want it right away, but you have to wait and see what happens. I’m not trying to rush the process because I know what I want out of a team, and I know what my goals are. I’m trying to find the best fit.”
I haven’t found any other team connected to Sanders besides Dallas, so if you see a team, please share it in the comments. Sanders gave the 49ers offense the boost they were looking for. If the team is unable to re-sign Sanders, the 49ers will likely receive a comp pick in the 2021 draft. I’d guess that would end up in the fourth round.
