Late Friday night, Emmanuel Sanders signed with the New Orleans Saints on a two-year deal worth $16 million. We talked about the business part of it for the San Francisco 49ers. It’s tough to let Sanders walk, but he did everything the team could have possibly asked for, both on and off the field.
Speaking of off the field, some of Sander’s former teammates reacted to the veteran receiver leaving on Twitter. As you’d expect, the wideouts like Kendrick Bourne and Deebo Samuel were affected the most. I love seeing the mutual respect between these guys. We saw it from guys that spent their entire career with the Niners like DeForest Buckner. We also saw it with a player that spent one season in Levine Toilolo. Seeing the bond that Sanders and the receivers built makes it easy to see why there is a championship culture in the locker room.
Here is Sanders saying his goodbye on Instagram:
But in all seriousness congrats E! Dibs on your jersey next year @ESanders_10— George Kittle (@gkittle46) March 21, 2020
